Police today identified three of the five victims who died in a head-on collision near Pahala Wednesday morning, and said a medical condition apparently contributed to the crash.
Police said the driver of the 2012 Nissan sedan was 73-year-old Donald Ingoglia of Sacramento, Calif.
His passengers were identified as his son, 39-year-old Philip A. Ingoglia of Costa Rica, and his grandson, 9-year-old Isidora I. Ingoglia, also of Costa Rica.
Donald and Philip Ingoglia both died at the scene, while Isidora Ingoglia died later at Kona Community Hospital.

Police said an autopsy showed that Donald Ingoglia suffered from a medical condition which apparently caused him to lose control of the car and cross the centerline.
Police have not specified what type of medical condition was believed involved.
The Nissan crashed into an oncoming 2002 Ford pickup truck which overturned and caught fire.

The man and woman who died in the truck have not been identified.
