5,977 New Cases, 6 Deaths Reported Saturday

The state Department of Health reported 5,977 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 166,008. Six new fatalities were reported.

A total of 720 new infections were identified Saturday on the Big Island. The Hawaiʻi Civil Defense reported 4,162 active cases, and 42 persons hospitalized.

A total of 5,419 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,123 have died.
