Flood Advisory Extended Through 9:30 p.m.

The Flood Advisory issued for western portions of the Big Island has been extended until 9:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Radar continues to show heavy showers developing over the slopes and coast of the Kona district. The heaviest showers are near Kailua-Kona and upslope from communities from Honaunau to Holualoa.

A Flood Advisory has been issued for western portions of the Big Island through 6:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service reports that just after 3:30 p.m. radar was showing several pockets of locally heavy showers over the leeward slopes of the island.
NWS reports that the heaviest showers appear to be affecting the an area between Keahole Point and Puuanahulu. Rain in those areas is coming in at excess of two inches per hour, and may lead to ponding of water on roadways.
Kailua-Kona, Puuanahulu, and areas upslope from Kailua-Kona are included in the advisory.
