Chiefess Kapi’olani Elementary School students will take part in a tsunami evacuation drill on Friday, Sept. 25, according to school officials.

Each year, the school participates in an evacuation drill that takes students up towards Kinoole Street. Once students have assembled along the roadway, the students will walk to Wailoa Street, where another mass cross will be conducted.

Students will then find their way to the Saint Joseph School soccer field before returning to school the same way.

School officials say the drill is set to begin at 8:20 a.m. and should be completed by 8:45 a.m.

Motorists driving in the area during the time of the drill should plan another route if possible, use caution, and anticipate delays.
