The Department of Water Supply announced Wednesday that it will temporarily turn off water along Operations Street in Hilo on Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The DWS says that the water shut off will allow crews to do a water main connection for the new Department of Accounting and General Services’ Hawai`i District Office Baseyard.

Affected areas along Operations St. include the stretch of road from Hawaiian Air Cargo to Pono’s Used Cars.

The DWS reminds those in the area that turbid and/or discolored water may initially be seen as water service resumes. That’s because crews will be flushing and cleaning the waterlines in the area before getting water service back online.
