NHCH Awarded Grant for Emergency Room Renovation & Expansion
The North Hawai‘i Community Hospital was awarded a grant of $50,000 for its emergency room renovation and expansion project thanks to the generosity of American Savings Bank, Hawai‘i Electric Light and Pacific Current.
North Hawai‘i Community Hospital’s emergency room is a critical and fundamental medical service in the delivery of emergency care to residents and visitors in the North Hawai‘i region. To address the increasing number of emergency visits at North Hawai‘i Community Hospital, the hospital has begun planning for the renovation and expansion of its existing emergency room.
The new emergency room will house 13 multi-use rooms (11 standard and two trauma), a centralized nurses work station, new ambulance and patient/family entry points, a new waiting room and other support spaces for emergency services, allowing the delivery of care in a family- and patient-centered environment.
“We greatly appreciate and thank American Savings Bank, Hawai‘i Electric Light, and Pacific Current for their generous support. It is through the commitment of businesses, foundations and individuals that we will be able to raise the funds needed to complete the project, making a difference in our community,” said Cindy Kamikawa, President, North Hawai‘i Community Hospital.
American Savings Bank, Hawai‘i Electric Light, and Pacific Current are all part of the HEI family of companies and are proud to support the hospital’s emergency room renovation and expansion to improve the criticalemergency services that the hospital provides for residents of Hawai‘i Island.
