WNW Builds Today, New Swell Expected

Hilo side: Chest high to slightly overhead waves are expected early today.
Kona side: Wave heights of knee to waist high are expected. Standout spots could get larger on the sets.
South: Wave heights of ankle to waist high are expected. Standout spots could get a bit bigger on the sets.
Our current west-northwest swell is building into Tuesday and starts to ease by the middle of the week.
Another bit of surf energy is expected to build out of the northwest later this week. This swell is still pending development of the storm.
Our current Tasman swell is expected to continue to slowly fade through Tuesday. Not much expected for the second half of the work week.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
