Charges against 23-year-old Kailua-Kona man Arley Alokoa and a juvenile male stem from an incident June 1 at Kailua-Kona Pier involving an alleged sexual assault, an affray during which another man was injured and a theft of a backpack that likely was the location of the knife used in the fight.

Michael Alan Torres Jr., 57, died at Queen’s Medical Center on Oʻahu due to injuries from an assault in Hilo at 5:11 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.

The incident involved a man who was found near a vehicle that had hit an embankment in Ocean View and appeared to have serious injuries.

The suspect was found in a vehicle that was reported stolen in November 2025.

Forty-year-old Andrew Green allegedly told a security guard at a Kona hotel: “I am God and I can do or take whatever I want.”

40-year-old Andrew Green of Kona faces several charges, including assault and robbery, in connection with violent incidents early the morning of Dec. 2.

Jeremy Rios was later apprehended and arrested for assault, burglary and outstanding warrants.

The assault happened earlier this month outside a bar in downtown Hilo; the robbery and employee assaults took place at the end of August at a business in Prince Kūhiō Plaza on Pūʻainakō Street in Hilo.

The Puna man pleaded no contest in May on charges of kidnapping and felony abuse of a family member.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of July 30 at the Mo’oheau Bus Terminal.

Kukaua Keli’iho’oluhi Kaupe Bright remains in custody pending his initial court appearance, as he is unable to post bail set at $12,100.

The Area I Criminal Investigation Section is continuing this investigation. As of this time, Bright has not been charged.

South Hilo patrol officers responded just before 3 p.m. Tuesday to a church in the 500 block of Ponahawai Street after two men working as survey contractors for the county reported being assaulted.

The victim sustained a laceration to his right forearm from being struck with the hatchet and also sustained numerous abrasions in various areas of his body. The victim reported that Jones slammed his cellphone into the ground, destroying it, and struck numerous areas of his vehicle with the hatchet, causing damages.

On June 2, between 5 and 5:45 a.m., a 53-year-old Puna man was assaulted while visiting Magic Sands Beach in Kailua Kona.

Shortly before 8 p.m. on June 8, Hilo patrol officers responded to an assault complaint at a business in the 1700 block of Kamehameha Avenue at King’s Landing.

The suspect’s bail was set at $120,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

The victim was transported to Hilo Medical Center for treatment of a substantial laceration to her head and concussion following the early morning incident. She was released several hours later.

The incident occurred on April 14 when police responded to an unknown disturbance in Ocean View.

The 21-year-old is accused of throwing a man to the ground, kicking his arms and legs and taking money from his wallet.
