Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i Island presented a check for $602.96 to Hawai‘i Island United Way—the proceeds collected at the organization’s two-day, 1st Annual BBBS Basketball Clinic fundraiser held in September at the Panaewa Recreational Complex covered courts in Hilo..

This effort was coordinated by Kamea Wong, community-based case manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i Island.

Additional support was received in the form of donations from Hui Drywall, Kamea Designs and cash donations which covered lunches for youth participants and the registration fee for youth with financial need.
