Guests are invited to the “Lehua Love” line launch party for an evening of locally inspired fashion, live music, entertainment, door prizes and cuisine at Daylight Mind Coffee Company on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Kona Artist Cassy White has partnered with Kepola Design House to launch a clothing collection inspired by the ʻōhiʻa tree and its flower, the lehua blossom, in order to generate awareness about rapid ʻōhiʻa death.
On the Big Island, hundreds of thousands of ʻōhiʻa have already died across thousands of acres because of a fungus called Ceratocystis fimbriata.

“The plant, which is an ecological and cultural staple of our home, is in unprecedented jeopardy due to rapid ʻōhiʻa death,” said White.
Proceeds from the clothing line, sponsorships, and door charge will go to Hawaii Forest Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to maintaining a healthy native ecosystem.
Tickets for the event will be available at the door for $5.
