Jerry Linneus Stang
October 28, 1950 – October 30, 2016

Jerry Linneus Stang, 66, of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, was born in Hastings, Nebraska on Oct. 28, 1950, and passed away on Oct. 30, 2016 in Kealakekua, Hawai‘i.

Jerry worked as a CEO of an electronics company. Jerry was a generous and good man. He cared about people and took care not to hurt or offend, but loved to make all smile with his quick wit and dry sense of humor.

He is survived by spouse Radine Coopersmith; son Martin Stang of Omaha, Nebraska; step daughter Shanah Schaffer of Denver; brothers Dan Stang of Omaha, Nebraska; Jeff Stang of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Julie Klawitter of Chicago; Joan Lineberry of Montana; JoLynne Henning of Cleveland, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

A Memorial Reception was held.

Donald Gilbert Nitsche
January 20, 1930 – October 28, 2016

Donald Gilbert Nitsche, 86, of Ocean View, Hawai‘i, was born in Seattle on Jan. 20, 1930, and passed away on Oct. 28, 2016 at home.

Donald served our Country in the US Navy, “Seabees”, and was a Korean War Vet. He served his community in Ocean View in many ways including obtaining a water well.

He is survived by spouse Martha; son Karl (Anafel) Nitsche of Nāpili, Maui; daughter Jahna Brown of Ocean View; sister Lynn Layton of Seattle, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Military Honors are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at noon at West Hawai‘i Veteran’s Cemetery. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Kahili Blvd., Ocean View, Hawai‘i.

Barbara Jane Stiller
April 9, 1932 – October 27, 2016

Barbara Jane Stiller, 84, of Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, was born in Clinton, Iowa on April 9, 1932, and passed away on Oct. 27, 2016 in Kealakekua, Hawai‘i. Barbara was a realtor, homemaker and substitute teacher.

She also served as President of the Kailua-Kona Seniors, attended the Kona Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and was a member of Young Republicans in her youth.

She is survived by spouse Frank of Kailua-Kona; daughters Stacey Stiller; Barrie Stiller and Maile Stiller, all residing Haiku, Hawai‘i; brother Richard Fenley of California; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Kona Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Ryan K. Souza
December 9, 1971 – October 27, 2016

In 2001, as the head coach of Baldwin H.S., Ryan led the girls softball team to its first state championship title and went on to assist the team to win its second state title in 2007.

Ryan Souza established the Pacific Pride Club team to help prepare young local talent to compete at the college level. In 2008, Ryan Souza became a State Farm Insurance agent and opened his office in Makawao.

Ryan Souza also enjoyed, trained and competed in Jiu-jitsu.

Ryan Souza is survived by his parents, Rudy and Christine Souza; wife, Liza Ann; sons, Ronin, Rigan; daughter, Rylee and brother, Alfred Souza. A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held Nov. 11, 2016 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului at 6 p.m.

The family requests casual attire and no flowers please.
