Two days are complete at the 56th Annual Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament in Kailua-Kona.

Sunshine Coast Game Fishing Club of Australia holds the lead going into Wednesday with a point total of 1,688. Team Likeke Club follows with 1,495, and Kona Game Fishing Club – Kusatsu is in third with 1,264 points.

In the boat standings, Illusions leads the pack with 1,645 points. Ihi Nui is close behind with 1,564 points, and Northern Lights II sits in third place with 1,000 points.

“Twenty seven of 31 teams have already posted points on the scoreboard – and we’ve only just completed Day Two of fishing,” said Peter Fithian, founder of the HIBT. “With so many fish taking the bait, any team could pull ahead in the days to come.”

Fishing continues through Friday.
