The 34th annual Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park Cultural Festival will be held in Kahuku this year, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 12.

The festival features hula kāhiko and music, skilled practitioners demonstrating their arts, opportunities to try your own hand at Hawaiian crafts and taste traditional Hawaiian foods.

Park officials recommend visitors bring water, rain jacket and ground mat or chair, sunscreen and a hat. No pets are allowed, otherwise it’s family-friendly and a drug- and alcohol-free event. Lunch and beverages will be available for sale.

The Kahuku unit is the southernmost section of the national park, located on the mauka (uphill) side of Highway 11 at mile marker 70.5, with free entry and free parking.
