Monday’s PacWest Conference softball game between the University of Hawai`i at Hilo and Notre Dame de Namur was cancelled because of inclement weather in Belmont, CA.

The game was initially supposed to be played on March 2 in Hilo, but rain washed out the second leg of that day’s doubleheader. In order to make it up, the schools agreed to play it at the NDNU Softball Field at the back end of the Vulcans’ road trip.

According to UH-Hilo, the Vulcans fly back to the islands Tuesday and do not have another trip to the mainland scheduled for the rest of the season. NDNU, meanwhile, does not have another trip to the islands slated, meaning that the game will likely not be made up.

UH-Hilo went 2-1 in the three games played against the Argonauts. Both teams split a doubleheader on March 1. The next day, UH-Hilo beat the weather and the Argonauts by the score of 4-3 in the front end of a scheduled doubleheader.

UH-Hilo gets an opportunity to rest before playing its final four home games of the season on April 12-13. The Vulcans currently hold an overall record of 18-16 and are fifth in the conference with an 11-10 record.
