UHH’s Lee Named PWC Softball Player of the Week

University of Hawai`i at Hilo infielder Rebecca Lee was named Hawaii Tourism Authority / PacWest Conference Softball Player of the Week for the fifth week of the season. The award was announced Wednesday night by the conference.

The award recognizes play between February 25 and March 3 when the Vulcans took a pair of games from rival Hawai`i Pacific University. In that doubleheader, Lee batted .833 with three doubles and four runs batted in. She also accumulated two stolen bases and had an .875 on-base percentage.

On the season, Lee leads the team with a .427 batting average and 16 doubles. She is second on the team with 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

Teammate Kristina Victa was named conference player of the week for the third week of the season. Victa is currently batting .367 with 14 RBI.

The Vulcans are on the road to begin a nine day, twelve game trip through California. The trip begins Saturday with a doubleheader against conference foe Notre Dame de Namur. Heading into Thursday’s play, the Vulcans hold the conference lead over Grand Canyon.
