UPDATE: Minor coastal flooding along low-lying Big Island shorelines remains a threat

The National Weather Service has extended the coastal flood statement it issued during the weekend through Thursday afternoon during times of high tide.

UPDATE # 2: Big Island weather-related news for March 9

On March 9, there is a high surf warning for west-facing shores and high wind warning for the summits, but the wind advisory for the rest of the island has been canceled.

Update: High surf advisory canceled for east-facing shores on Big Island

The National Weather Service has updated its forecast. A high surf advisory for east-facing shores of the Big Island is now in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
