UPDATE: High surf advisory for west-facing shores of Big Island

A high surf advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday for west-facing shores of the Big Island.

High Surf Advisory Issued through Sunday Evening

A large, long period north-northeast swell will build today, peak tonight, and gradually diminish on Sunday.

Beach & State Parks to Close Ahead of Extreme Weather

Hawai‘i County is closing all beach parks from Saturday, Feb. 9, at midnight until further notice and all state parks will close at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10.

High Surf Advisory, Flash Flood Watch for Big Island

Saturday, April 14, 2018, 7 a.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch and High Surf Advisory for Hawai‘i Island.

High Surf Advisory for North Shore Hawaiʻi Island

Surf is expected to peak at 10 to 15 feet overnight and gradually subside through the weekend.

High Surf and Wind Advisories Extended

A High Surf Advisory and High Wind Advisory remain in effect until 6 p.m. this evening.
