On July 12, 2023, guests and boat crew on an Hawaiian Adventures Kona catamaran could not believe their eyes. A humpback whale was spotted just south of Keauhou Bay and appeared healthy. It's super rare to see humpback whales in Hawaiian waters in the summer. They are usually much further north at their feeding grounds, including off the coast of Alaska.
