Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center invites the public to participate in a free workshop, “Dealing with Anger: Steps to Understanding and Transformation.” In honor of International Conflict Resolution Day, the event will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo’s Campus Center room 301.

The interactive workshop will be presented by Mala‘e Erickson, a practitioner of Marshall Rosenberg’s nonviolent communication methods for nearly two decades. Participants will explore steps to understanding and expressing anger using compassionate communication techniques.

“You can transform anger from blaming others to connecting with what is important to you,” said Erickson. “Although it can be one of the most painful emotions, anger serves an important purpose, and we can use it to serve life.”
