Weldon Kekauoha
KAPA Hawaiian FM morning personalities Jaz and Ka’ea welcomed Weldon Kekauoha to the KAPA Cafe.
Weldon is a multi-award winning musician from Oahu. He grew up around a musical family and got his first ukulele at the age of four. His debut solo album, Hawaiian Man, won “Most Promising Artist” at the 2000 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. In 2003, Weldon released his second CD entitled, Kanaka Maoli, which received four nominations such as “Song of the Year” and “Contemporary Hawaiian Album”. Weldon’s third album Ka Lehua ‘Ula, won “Song of the year” in 2007. The Culture of Hawaii Music Festival features Weldon and takes place tonight (Friday, June 2nd) in Kalapana from 5-10pm.
