The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island was a recent recipient of the Ohana Fuels “Fuel Up. Do Good” Community Giving Program, receiving a total of $7,559.31.

Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community.

“BGCBI reaches 300 diverse Big Island youth daily through afterschool programs in Hilo, Kea’au, Pahoa, Hamakua and Pahala,” said Chad Cabral, BGCBI Chief Executive Officer. “Our fun, creative programs focus on Character Building and Leadership; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. We actively seek to enrich the lives of girls and boys who need it most, ensuring that the community’s children and teens have greater access to quality programs, services, and caring adults that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.”

The funds donated to the club were from gasoline sales during the first quarter at all Ohana Fuels locations and proceeds from car washes held during the quarter.

“At Ohana Fuels, we are proud to support local nonprofit organizations through our ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ Community Giving Program,” said Kimo Haynes, President of Hawai’i Petroleum. “We value the exceptional work these nonprofits do to help local residents and neighborhoods. We look forward to supporting our communities through our ‘Fuel Up. Do Good’ program.”
