Bank of Hawai‘i Employees Select 237 Nonprofits to Receive $218,750
Bank of Hawai‘i contributed $218,750 to 237 nonprofits selected by its employees across Hawai‘i and the West Pacific region, the bank announced Friday, Aug. 5.
As part of the company’s yearlong 125th anniversary, every Bank of Hawai‘i employee was invited to select a nonprofit to which Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation would make a $125 donation.
“Bank of Hawai‘i employees care deeply about the place we call home and enthusiastically support hundreds of nonprofits to build a more vibrant future for everyone,” said Momi Akimseu, SVP, Bank of Hawai‘i Foundation president and community and employee engagement manager at the bank. “It’s a joy to celebrate our 125th anniversary contributing to causes that are meaningful to our employees and that make a difference in our community.”
The 237 nonprofits Bank of Hawai‘i employees selected span a wide range of organizations working to strengthen Hawai‘i by supporting vulnerable members of our society; easing financial hardship for local families; advancing a just, diverse, equitable and inclusive community; protecting and preserving the environment, and helping keiki and youth reach their full potential. Child & Family Service, Lanakila Meals on Wheels and K9 Kokua were among the top three nonprofits where employees directed their giving.
“We’re deeply grateful to Bank of Hawai‘i and its employees for their generous support of our mission to strengthen families and foster the healthy development of keiki across Hawai‘i,” said Karen Tan, President & CEO of Child & Family Service. “This gift allows us to ensure we can continue to help families plan for a thriving future and care for all generations of their ‘ohana.”
