Male Rescued Near Honokaʻa After Falling 35 Feet Down Hill

First responders successfully rescued a male Friday morning who fell down a hill in the Laupahoehoe area toward the bottom of a ravine the night before.
The Hawaiʻi Fire Department received an initial call regarding a person who fell at approximately 10:51 a.m. on Friday, March 25. Firefighters responded to Ahoa Road where they located the adult male, who reportedly fell 35 feet down a hill in the night while getting out of a vehicle.
Two personnel from Company 2 rappelled down to assess the patient. The male was able to walk and first responders escorted him up the hill.
He was transported to Hilo Medical Center without incident.
