Mayor Billy Kenoi, along with select cabinet members, will discuss opportunities and challenges of West Hawai’i’s economy at the annual Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce 2015 Focus Luncheon.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay.

Through a sponsorship from the Hawai’i Community Federal Credit Union, the luncheon will offer a unique opportunity for the local community to meet with county department representatives in a casual setting.

At the luncheon, those in attendance will have lunch with members of a specific department. Additionally, questions can be posed to the major  cabinet heads.

Issues that might be discussed include an update on the Keauhou Aquifer, the county’s solid waste management plan, and the quest to reopen the Kona International Airport international arrivals facility.
