Kahulanui on Stage at the Kahilu Theatre
Grammy nominated Hawaiian swing band Kahulanui will be performing on the Kahilu Theatre stage on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
With inspiration drawn from the Hawaiian Swing music orchestras of the 1920s and 30s, Kahulanui performs classic Hawaiian songs in a syncopated style, making Hawaiian Swing vibrant and alive today.
The band is composed of Lolena Naipo Jr., Patrick Eskildsen, Robert Duke Tatom, and Tim Taylor. Jesse Snyder and other special guests will be featured on horns.
Kahulanui’s big Kahilu concert is the only one on the island before the band ships off to GlobalFEST 2015 in New York City. The band will also perform on the Millennium stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in January.
You can purchase tickets online at the Kahilu Theatre website, by calling (808) 885-6868, or at the Kahilu Theatre Box Office, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ticket prices are $66/$46/$36/$20.
Attendees who enjoy dancing are encouraged to select seats that are at the rear or the sides of the theatre.
Kahulanui’s performance at the Kahilu Theatre is made possible through a sponsorship from Regan & Shoshana Matsumura, Mimi & Brain Kerley, and Tim Bostock & Melanie Holt.
