#Waiakea Fire Station No. 2

The Hawai’i Fire Department made the difficult decision Sept. 13 to relocate Waiākea personnel to Station No. 3 on Haihai Street, nearly 5 miles away, after receiving a report of a dangerous mold condition inside the Keaukaha firehouse located at 95 Kea’a St.

While fire, rescue and emergency medical services will continue, the Hawai‘i Fire Department does expect some delays in response in the station’s coverage area in the Keaukaha area of Hilo.
