No fire or injuries were reported following propane leak in Kawaihae

A propane leak at the Kawaihae harbor Friday afternoon resulted in the evacuation of harbor workers and civilians at a half-mile radius in all directions.

UPDATE: HFD Respond to Propane Leak in Shipman Industrial Park

The Hawai‘i Fire Department reports a propane tank leak occurred in the Shipman Industrial Park area on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. 

Gas Leak Closes Highway 130 in Hilo Direction

The Hawai‘i Fire Department shutdown Highway 130, approximately 200 yards East of the the Kea‘au Transfer Station in the Hilo direction.
