On Tuesday, the Hawaiʻi County Police Commission wrapped up two days of public testimony and questioning of the four finalists for police chief, with inquiries about a questionable hotel stay and a discrimination lawsuit.

The public interviews for the Hawaiʻi County police chief position will continue Tuesday in Kona with another special meeting at 9 a.m. at the West Hawaiʻi Civic Center, Building A Council Chambers.

Out of a pool of 44 candidates, the Hawaiʻi County Police Commission selected four finalists: one is an internal candidate, two others have direct ties to the Big Island, and the fourth is from Honolulu.
