County apologizes for emergency water shutoff day before Thanksgiving in Waimea
“Implementing a water shutoff right before a major holiday was not ideal timing,” said the Hawai’i County Department of Water Supply in a news release issued Tuesday.
Update: Emergency water shutoff extended until 5 p.m. for portions of Waimea
The emergency repair was necessary to prevent any further disruptions and/or problems. The shutoff continues for customers along portions of Māmalahoa Highway, heading east of Pu‘u Pūlehu Loop; U‘ikeoni Street; Waokele Street; and in Lakeland Subdivision.
