One person dies in early morning house fire in Hilo

At 3:11 a.m. on Sunday, four fire companies were dispatched to a house fire at 368 West Kawailani St. in Hilo that claimed the life of one person, who has not been identified.

ROAD CLOSURE: Kawailani Street & Iwalani Street Intersection, Aug. 17–19

The County of Hawai‘i reports that a continuous 24-hour closure of the West Kawailani Street and Iwalani Street intersection will begin on Friday, Aug. 17.

Portion of Kawailani Street to Close for Construction

Hawai‘i Electric Light announced the closure of a portion of Kawailani Street in Hilo from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between July 16 to July 20.

Water Shut-Off Set For Block of Kawailani Wednesday

The affected area lies between Oihana and Launa streets.
