No Tsunami Threat to Hawai‘i From 8.1-M Fiji Quake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, 6 a.m. that an 8.1-magnitude earthquake has occurred in Fiji at 5:49 a.m.

No Tsunami Generated From 4.3-M Quake

NO TSUNAMI IS EXPECTED; HOWEVER, SOME AREAS MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED SHAKING.

3.1-M Quake Reported SSW of Hilo

A preliminary earthquake report from the U.S. Geological Survey indicates that a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 8:21 a.m. about 31 miles SSW of HIlo.

No Tsunami Threat From 6.4-M Fiji Quake

The National Weather Service Pacific Tsunami Warning System in O‘ahu reports the magnitude at 6.5 at approximately 6:30 p.m. HST south of Fiji.

No Tsunami Threat to Hawai‘i After 6.7 New Guinea Quake

Based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawai‘i.
