#Hawaii Hotel Performance Report

Big Island hotels at 70% occupancy for August 2023

Hotels on the Big Island reported revenue per available room (RevPAR) at $302 (-2.2% vs. 2022, +33.3% vs. 2019), with average daily rate (ADR) at $436 (+2.8% vs. 2022, +55.7% vs. 2019), and occupancy of 69.3% (-3.6 percentage points vs. 2022, -11.6 percentage points vs. 2019).

Big Island hotels’ occupancy rate at 71% for November 2022

Hawai‘i hotels statewide reported stronger revenue per available room and average daily rate and occupancy rate in November 2022 compared to November 2021.

Hotel Numbers Remained Grim in January

If the state’s hotel occupancy for January 2021 was calculated based on the pre-pandemic room supply from January 2019, occupancy would be 21.5% for the month.

Hospitality Booms Across State, Big Island

In August 2019, Hawai‘i hotels statewide reported growth in revenue per available room (RevPAR), average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy compared to August 2018.
