The Māmalahoa Highway (Route 19) Widening Project in Waimea is ongoing and will be accompanied by lane closures.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as the traffic signal timing has been updated along Kanoelehua Avenue from Kawailani Street to Kekūanāo’a Street.

The Hawai‘i County Department of Public Works Traffic Division will be repairing a signal pole at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu and Waikoloa Beach Road intersection on Thursday, Nov. 1.

DPW Traffic Division announces that the county will be working on the traffic signals at the Haili Street/Keawe Street and Haili Street/Kino‘ole Street intersections.

Public Works Traffic Division will be configuring the traffic signals to accommodate the newly installed left turn pocket on Henry Street.

The County of Hawai‘i Traffic Division will begin restriping work on Kīlauea Avenue from the 4-mile bridge to Hale Manu Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

The upgrade involves installing wireless vehicle detection sensors in the roadway on the Kaumana Dr. mauka bound approach and the Waiānuenue Ave. south bound approach, and programing the traffic signals to optimize traffic flow.

The Ka‘apahu-Waika‘alulu Gulch Bridges No.44-2, No.44-3 and the Waika’alulu Bridge No.44-5 on Pa‘auilo Mauka Road will be closed for repair work.

The $1.2 million project extending from Kapiolani Street to Kamehameha Avenue is expected to be completed in early September, weather permitting.

The project scheduled to get underway the second week of July will extend from Kamehameha Avenue to Kapiolani Street.
