In 2021, the Hawai‘i State Legislature mandated the implementation of the Ocean Stewardship User Fee. Commercial operators that are required to have a Commercial Use Permit from the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR), will have to collect a $1.00 fee from each passenger or customer.

The annual operation, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Land and Natural Resources and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office of Law Enforcement, focused on safeguarding the coastal waters and maritime assets, ensuring the well-being of both residents and visitors to the region.

All game bird hunting is regulated by Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules Title 13, Chapter 122. Detailed information on hunting units on each island, all legal hunting days and other instructions can be found on the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife website.
