Army Corps of Engineers hosting public meetings for WMA Program munition response sites
Hand digging of potential items may be necessary in some areas which may require resident evacuations. The Army Corps of Engineers and contract representatives will present details on
the remedial investigation schedule and methodology. Representatives from Hawaiʻi Department of Health and the contractor will also be available to answer questions. The
public is encouraged to attend in-person or online.

Sector 15, a Formerly Used Defense Site, is 11,200 acres located east of Waimea and primarily comprised of Pu’ukapu Hawaiian Home Lands, including Kūhiō Village and Kanu o ka ʻĀina school.
