POSITION OVERVIEW:
Rising Sun Solar Electrical Apprentices are to assist the Electrical Journeyman in the installation process for solar PV. The Apprentices provide support by assisting in wiring, maintaining an organized, safe, and clean workspace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining vehicle by cleaning out all trash from the day before (cardboard, submit part returns, throughout the day ensures parts are put back in their place
- Prepare for day’s work by filling water coolers with fresh water ensuring enough for team
- Assists in pulling materials and tools as directed by crew leader/EJ
- Assists with general site preparation and continuous job-site clean-up by putting up the tent and setting up work table, staging tools and charging them, pulling materials
- Take directions from crew lead, Example: "E1 to run attic flex DC pippin and roof penetrations to j box"
- Perform any trench work
- Pull wire and mount equipment
- Prep and restock vehicle with install equipment and material
- Maintain constant communication with their crew leader on the status of task completion and is proactive in accomplishing all tasks assigned and those necessary for the job
- Participates in regular safety practices learns safety protocols to apply at job site
- Maintains a neat and professional appearance, job site and communicates with the customers in a positive manner
- Proactive in collaborating with management in creating and fine tuning company standards and procedures to be adapted in policies and the ERP
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some construction, roofing or electrical experience with a desire to learn and follow direction
- Initiate use and understanding of NEC codes
- Works well in a small team environment and can take directions
- Comfortable climbing ladders plus standing and working on residential roof tops (single and 2-story in both hot and cold weather
- Follows all OSHA and company safety requirements without question
- Follows all company operations standards, policies and processes
- Candidate owns their own hand tools
- Personal reliable transportation
- Detail oriented and shows pride in their work
- Positive outlook even when challenged with physically or mentally demanding situations
- Willing to ask questions if uncertain

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb, bend, kneel, balance, stoop, walk and reach. The employee will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Comfortable climbing ladders plus standing and working on residential roof tops (single and 2-story in both hot and cold weather.
ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within the commercial and residential settings. We are seeking a technically competent professional who strives to understand each client's unique needs and delivers exceptional solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read blueprints, SLDs or technical diagrams to install solar systems
- Be able to get a material list based on blueprints, SLDs or technical diagrams
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with codes. (Ex. Main services needing a replacement, upgrades, or bad breakers)
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring and equipment using testing devices
- Be able to perform Service upgrades or socket replacements. (100 amp, 200 amp, 300 amp and 400 amp)
- Must submit accurate documentation (daily reports, pictures) in a daily basis
- Enforcement and documentation of safety practices
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
- Off island travel is required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Journeyman license and/or graduate of an accredited apprenticeship program with related work experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Degree in related field is preferred
- Possess a Current Driver License and Reliable Transportation
- Candidate owns their own tools
- Clean driving abstract, no DUI within 5 years
- Must pass drug screen and background check
