Update: The flood advisory for West Hawaiʻi has been canceled.

Original post: A flood advisory is in effect until 6:15 p.m. Sunday for portions of the west side of the Big Island.

The National Weather Service said radar indicated heaving rain over the slopes above the west side of the Big Island from Keahole Point to Captain Cook.

Rain was falling at a rate of up to 1 inch per hour.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Honalo, Holualoa, Kahaluu-Keauhou, Kainaliu, Kealakekua, Honaunau, Kalaoa and Kona International
Airport.
