HFD Responds to Brush Fire in Kaʻū

Hawaiʻi Fire Department has responded to a brush fire in Kaʻū in the Discovery Harbor Subdivision.
HFD crews and volunteer units are on scene to control the fire. Initially reported to be 3 acres, fire officials say the blaze is a runaway brush fire. Motorists are advised to avoid the area near Wakea and Kahiki Streets as personnel is in the area.
