Puʻu Waʻawaʻa Game Bird Hunting Area Temporarily Closed Due to Storm Damage

The hunting area at Puʻu Waʻawaʻa off of Highway 190 will be closed to game bird hunting this weekend, Dec. 11-12, due to storm damage from the Kona Low system.
The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) will be removing fallen trees on a road used to access Hunting Unit F. DOFAW anticipates reopening the unit for game bird hunting opportunities on the following weekend of Dec. 18, 2021.
