A barricaded subject in the Kona Coast Subdivision has been taken into custody without incident, officials reported at 2:55 p.m.

At 10:19 a.m., Hawai‘i County Police Department put out a push alert about a road closure on Ahulani Street from Hookumu to Kie Kie Streets. As a result, neighbors in the surrounding area were evacuated for safety.

The individual was taken into custody without incident and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
