Ka’u Road Open After Downed Utility Pole Repaired

Kama’oa Road in Ka’u has reopend at the Lewalani Street intersection after emergency crews responded to a downed utility pole across the roadway Wednesday night.

The Hawai‘i County Police Department sent a push alert at 2:55 p.m. indicating the road was open to traffic after it was shut down overnight into today.

7:59 p.m. on Wednesday to inform the public about the closure. A HELCO crew was dispatched to the area to make repairs.
