Volcano Art Center will host “Edible Landscaping for Backyards and Beyond,” a practical class on edible plants for landscaping and gardening. The workshop will be on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Volcano Village.

Instructor Zach Mermel will teach participants how to easily grow edible plants that can increase the biodiversity of a home garden or landscape and serve as a nutritious food source. Attendees will receive edible plants to take home and a packet of reading materials and resources for further study.

The fee to attend the class is $40, $30 for Volcano Art Center members, plus a $15 materials fee. For more information and to register, call (808) 967-8222 or visit www.volcanoartcenter.org.
