A unique dance experience comes to the Hilo Palace Theater on Friday, May 31, 2019—one with no audible music. From 8 to 10 p.m., two different sets of tunes played by two DJS will be channelled through specialized bluetooth headphones given to attendees upon arrival. Guests can bounce between the two separate DJ sets for a dance party experience unlike any other.

The event acts as the kick off to the second annual Made in Hawai‘i Film Festival, sponsored by the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and Castle Resorts and Hotels. The film festival takes place at the Hilo Palace June 1 and 2, and the Aloha Theatre in Kona on June 14.

The silent dance party is a collaboration with MIHFF, the Hilo Palace Theater and Headphones Only Party Systems Hawai’i, run by Kona-based DJ Greg Check. Also included in the event are ambient aerial performances by Aerial Arts Hawai‘i.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the party runs from 8 to 10 p.m. The tunes will range from EDM to 90s hip hop favorites.
