HPA to Host 37 Universities at Summer College Fair

Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy (HPA) will be the host of the 2018 College Horizons program, which includes a college fair on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, that is free and open to the public.

The event will begin with an orientation and hosted lunch at Gates Performing Arts Center on the HPA Upper Campus from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

The college fair will take place from 1 to 2:30 at the HPA Castle Gymnasium and be followed by information sessions on financial aid, college essay writing and the competitive college admissions process from 2:45 to 4 p.m.

The College Horizon’s college fair offers a unique opportunity for Hawai‘i students to meet with admissions representatives from 37 of the nation’s finest colleges and universities. The following colleges will be in attendance:

Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Brown University, Caltech, Carleton College, Colorado College, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Emory University, Harvard College, Johns Hopkins University, Kenyon College, Lawrence University, Linfield College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Northeastern University, Occidental College, Pomona College, Smith College, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, Trinity College, UC Irvine, University of Chicago, University of Denver, University of Oregon, University of Pennsylvania, University of Redlands, University of Rochester, University of San Francisco,Ursinus College, Vanderbilt University, Whitman College, Williams College and Yale University.

The college fair is part of College Horizons’ weeklong college access program that services Native American, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students. While this summer’s program is already enrolled to capacity, the college fair welcomes all students and families from the community.
