Kahilu Theatre Presents ʻWhen Strangers Meet’ on Jan. 26 and 27
Kahilu Theatre will present critically acclaimed film producer Jeannette Paulson Hereniko in her one-woman show, “When Strangers Meet,” on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26 and 27, 2018, at 7 p.m.
In the show, Hereniko shares a series of heartwarming stories with candid insights from her travels around the world as a film professional. What she discovers beyond the screen shatters both her illusions of the world and herself.
Hereniko has worked in the film industry for 35 years. She was director of the Hawai‘i International Film Festival, a position she held from 1981 to 1996, and worked with the famed Sonny Bono to start the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 1990. She also produced the award-winning feature film “The Land Has Eyes,” which was written and directed by her husband, Vilsoni Hereniko. The movie was shown in the Sundance Film Festival in 2004 and at over 30 international film festivals.
Tickets for “When Strangers Meet” are $30 and available for purchase at the Kahilu Theatre Box Office by calling (808) 885-6868, in person at 67-1186 Lindsey Road in Waimea, or online at kahilutheatre.org.
