The NWS Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported at 2:30 p.m. HST on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, that a 6.6 magnitude earthquake occurred near Palau at 2:23 HST.
Based on all available data a destructive pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawai‘i.
