Water Shutoff Planned Along Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road
The County of Hawaiʻi Department of Water Supply has issued a water shutoff notice for customers along Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road from, but not including, Kea‘au transfer station to the intersection of Shower Drive and Pōhaku Drive.
The shutoff will occur in the above-mentioned area on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The temporary suspension will allow for a water main connection for the second phase of the Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road shoulder lane conversion and Shower Drive intersection improvements.
When water service resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. Users may notice turbid and/or discolored water. Trapped air in the pipelines may be released upon initial use of water faucets.
Affected customers are asked to take any and all precautions necessary to protect the customers’ property and facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure and/or water supply, and which might be harmed if automatically energized during the water shutoff.
