Man Released From Custody in Wife’s Death

A man arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder Thursday morning in connection to a fatal shooting in Kona has been released.

Seventy-year-old James Mansker was arrested after police responded to the Kona Highlands subdivision Thursday morning and found a woman, identified as Marsha Mansker, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that James Mansker was released from custody at 2:15 p.m. Friday, pending further investigation.

An autopsy on the body of the 62-year-old woman has been scheduled for Monday.
