Kona Woman Dies from Fatal Gunshot, Husband Arrested

A
A fatal shooting Thursday morning has led to the arrested of a Kona man.
The Hawai’i Police Department responded to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound at a Kona Highland subdivision home.
Upon arrival at a home on the 73-1200 block of Mahilani Drive, officers found the woman unresponsive with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
The woman has been identified as Marsha Mansker, 62, of Kailua-Kona.
James Mansker, the woman’s 70-year-old husband was arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder.

He was taken to the Kona police cellblock as Area II Criminal Investigations Section detectives continue to investigate. No charges have been issued.
