Hilo ‘Easter at the Plaza’

Easter PIXABAYOn Friday, March 25, the Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation, alongside local groups and businesses, will host “Easter at the Plaza.”

The free holiday event is for children ages 17 and under and will be held at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.

Registration for the event will open at 9:30 a.m. at PKP’s Center Court and activities will begin at 10 a.m.

Attendees can anticipate Easter crafts, a coloring station, carnival games, tattoos, face painting, and balloon sculpting through 2 p.m. Prize giveaways will also happen every half-hour.

A Hilo Jaycees and Kandi’s Drive-Inn milk drinking contest will take place at 12:30 p.m., along with a Dairy Queen/Orange Julius ice cream eating contest. Both events will be open to children 12 years old or younger.

County partners for the event include Prince Kuhio Plaza, Hilo High School Key Club and AVID, Waiakea High School Key Club, Hilo Jaycees, Living Waters Assembly, Circle K at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, East Hawai’i Kiwanis, and Kandi’s Drive-Inn.
